Before joining Street Agency for my work experience, I had very limited knowledge of marketing, especially B2B marketing. I knew it was about businesses supporting other businesses, but that was about it. So walking into the office, I was both curious and excited to find out what really goes on behind the scenes of a marketing agency.
One of the highlights of the week was attending the MAD//Fest marketing festival in London. I was lucky enough to listen to a number of talks including watching Katie Street (Street Agency’s Founder), deliver a talk with Contentful on the importance of human connection in B2B marketing. They shared how they used real experiences such as perfume making in Paris and cocktail making in Barcelona are being used to help brands build genuine relationships. It really showed me how B2B marketing can be way more personal and fun than I expected.
Across the week, I had the opportunity to get stuck into a range of different areas. I worked closely with the content team, where I edited and posted footage from MAD//Fest London across Street’s Instagram and LinkedIn channels – including recording a voiceover for the final edit! Being trusted with real content that would go out on live platforms was a big learning moment for me. I realised how much planning and attention to detail goes into every piece of content Street creates.
I also had the chance to sit in on new business meetings and watch the team create pitch decks for upcoming proposals. Seeing the effort that goes into every presentation, from the visual storytelling to the team collaboration, was incredibly inspiring. It gave me a new perspective on how agencies like Street win and deliver work that truly makes an impact.
The biggest thing I’ve taken away from this experience is how collaborative, creative, and people-focused B2B marketing really is. Everyone at Street was so welcoming and willing to share their knowledge. As someone considering a future career in business, this week has opened my eyes to the creative side of the industry – and has definitely sparked my interest in exploring marketing further.
Considering I was only at Street for a week, I’ve learnt so much in such a short space of time. Being involved with real projects has really allowed me to feel a part of the team. From day one, everyone has made me feel so welcome and genuinely treated me like one of their own which made the whole experience even better.
Thank you to the whole team at Street for such a fun, insightful and inspiring week!
